VA: Grim Dynasty KS & Essen

Hai.  So Grimlord have launched their Village Attacks expansion, Grim Dynasty via KS last night.  As with the launch of The Everrain before it, Grimlord find themselves competing for wallet contents against CMON with yet another Zombicide release, but the uptake on GD has been good and it's almost 90% funded in less than a day.  Most impressive for a 2-man company with just three games (and one new edition) under their belts.

The ever-useful Kicktraq site has Grim Dynasty third in their Hot List, trending to hit £757k but that's based on the surge of initial pledges; I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised if the projection matches the initial trend and is ~30% more successful than the original Kickstarter!

In other Grimlord related news, they have invited me to demo VA for them on Stand 107, Hell 6 at the Spiel expo over in Essen, Germany.  If this is gonna be as much of a blast as helping them at the UKGE was earlier this year it should be a great time.  If anyone reads this I hope to see you there if you go and enjoy yourselves!

Initial Rumblings...

So yeah, a web log, eh?  It's been a while since I've had one of these (LiveJournal was my last one, to show my age) and with some will, good fortune and motivation, I'll update this one regularly.

Welcome, if you're (un)fortunate enough to be reading this!  The plan is for this to be a place for me to splat my Warhammer-related stuff - PC games as well as traditional tabletop - but there may be some smatterings of other less important things, like life in general, work related witterings, book blitherings and frankly whatever I feel like posting.  Nerr.

This is mostly for me to get into the habit of writing for enjoyment and to keep track of hobby progress.  That being said, I hope that anyone who happens across any content here appreciates and enjoys what they find.

TESTING, Testing...

...1, 2, 3.  Well, I'm probably alpha/beta testing more than just three things on my PC at the moment, some of which I can't discuss (Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus & Mechanicus for 40k related stuff, Scorn, Phoenix Point, Angels Fall First) but also a few things that I perhaps might be able to because the testing is more informal and there's no signed NDA.

Village Attacks falls into the latter category and I'm mildly surprised but very happy that Grimlord Games are themselves involved in their almost-released game being ported into Tabletop Simulator (I'm too used to how Games Workshop do things) and not only that but Mike & Adam from Grimlord were happy to allow me to help testing it.  Early days mean early builds but the game is playable off the bat and I intend to post up entries on how testing is going, the level of detail will depend on those managing the test and I've gotta say that when initially running through the into scenario last night the game is far more challenging that I expected!   I've had the rules in PDF (and hardcopy thanks to hanging out with Grimlord Mike at the UKGE earlier this year) for the last few months so I thought, with a rough overview of the game in mind (and having played similar-looking games like Space Hulk for decades), that I'd give it a fair stomping...

Nay.
